More dodge and weave.

Only about 6 posts of the 500 you've put on this site (this week) speak of love. That makes mean you are about 1% love. Sound about right?

Ha ha! Too funny! Check it out, no articles at all on this site so far regarding the teachings of Jesus.

https://strangenotions.com/jesus/teachings/

Catholics, sermonizing to atheists, and forgetting to mention the teachings of Jesus. "Huh, Jesus? Who's that??"

Its purpose is for dialogue between Catholics and atheists.

I should temper my whining with an appreciative salute to this worthy goal. Seriously.

This may be the best Catholic site I've found, for my taste anyway, and I've seen quite a few. If I were to quibble further, it might be better if it wasn't "a Catholic site" but rather a true dialog site on some kind of neutral ground, but all things considered, this is a good start.

Do you want to tell people here what the central teachings of Jesus were and how they are being neglected?

I don't propose myself to be an expert on the teachings of Jesus, but then I'm not sure such a thing exists. What I'm somewhat "expert" at is asking inconvenient questions which, in some cases at least, might help unearth some of the contradictions within the faith which alienate many atheists, and keep them from taking a site like this seriously.

Such a process requires confident AND open minded Catholics who understand that if Catholicism sticks stubbornly to the same old path it's future in the modern era is in some doubt, as evidenced for example by churches emptying out in Europe, Catholicism's traditional homeland.

So for example, when it's discovered that only a handful of articles on this site (and most other Catholic sites as well) are about love the conversation requires intellectually honest Catholics who won't hunker down and hide in rationalization from such inconvenient facts, but confront them constructively.

Six articles, out of over 500. Dodge and weave all you wish, the math remains the same.

Who claimed that somebody claimed this site is representative of Catholicism? Shall we dive deeper yet in to pointless debunking gotcha dance?

Would you care to cite what you believe ought to be the percentage of discussions about love?

Sure. Exactly 88.35%. The rest could be about how the priests and nuns should swap jobs, with a single thread left to announce the schedule for my burning at the stake as a really annoying heretic.

Do you want to tell people here what the central teachings of Jesus were and how they are being neglected?

Of course. The central teachings of Jesus were that we should bang our male egos together with such enthusiasm that we crash the Disqus servers, which I'm guessing won't be all that hard, given the size of our egos and the fragility of everything Disqus.

So if this site is representative of Catholicism . . .

Who claims this site is representative of Catholicism? Its purpose is for dialogue between Catholics and atheists. Would you care to cite what you believe ought to be the percentage of discussions about love? Again, opinion based on ambiguous criteria and some really crass math. Love requires being truthful. Truth requires reason.

I presented this challenge to another good fellow a bit ago, and he found 6 articles about love on this site, out of over 500 articles. Check yourself, see what you find.

So if this site is representative of Catholicism, that would mean Catholicism is roughly 1% about love. Sound about right?

That's an opinion not a challenge. Challenge the argument, make an argument, speak in truths, that's loving.

Opinion is the medium between knowledge and ignorance. -Planto
