I wish I could express myself as well as you have in this commentary. First I would like to thank you for writing it, and I wish I could share it with family members that have abandoned the Faith. However, it would be of no avail.. Sadly those who leave are too stubborn to return, and think themselves wise to throw away the precious gift of faith, as though it were a opiate for peasants and the ignorant...I completely understand when you mention God's sense of humor, which i have encountered... Plus supernatural experiences, some might dismiss as coincidence, or being lucky, yet I know as prayers answered. I am glad your journey led you out of darkness into the LIGHT. In reply to A3Kr0n. actually that applies to every single atheist, agnostic, and every single member of any form of religion as well. That is every human being has that risk of being wrong about what happens after death. His point is absolutely correct according to atheists you cease to exist when you die so if atheists are right then it doesn't matter what he believes during this life. Thus there is absolutely no harm to him choosing to believe his experiences were not hallucinations or dreams. We are all going to die that means all of us will either find out that there is an afterlife or we will cease to exist at which point it doesn't matter. I am not an atheist. Right now I am closest to a pure agnostic.

I don't know why I got an email link to this, but I see nothing new here. How does Occam's razor cut out hallucinations or dreams as a likely explanation for your experiences? The simplest explanation is that it was a hallucination during your medical emergency. I'd would rather know the truth than live in a daydream, or believing in the mystical brotherhood of man. Lastly, I can't believe you pulled out Pascal's wager in the last sentence. What if you die and find out you've been worshiping the wrong God? What makes your God belief true, and other beliefs false?
