or that the body exists next to the soul - or the body exists two minutes forward in time and three feet above the soul - or the body exists in Dayton OH and the soul exists in Azuza CA

unless, of course, the soul is not within the body, but rather the body exists within the soul.

They then either build on that or point out the flaws within that description and build a better description. No scientist claims to know how the universe started, but are, all the while, gathering more accurate data about the universe. Even if it takes thousands of years science wants to discover everything that can possibly be known. Including how the universe started. Nobody in the history of science has seriously stated "I know how the universe came into existence". All they do in theoretical physics is to state how they believe the known facts could lead someone to believe some theory is a true and accurate description. Competing theories may stand as viable descriptions until the facts create no doubt that one or other theory is right. I cannot speak about a god creating the universe since I have no proof that is true, but equally I have no information leading me to believe any scientific theory is correct. What I can say is that I do not believe there will ever be a religion or believer that can say without doubt that a god exists and I believe therefore that some scientific explanation of the beginning of the universe has a better chance of describing the beginning than any theological tract

So are you making a distinction between immaterial and non-existent? That's nice.

Supernatural means immaterial. A soul doesn't take up a space, by definition. It can't bump against things or be bumped against.

OK. Then by the definition of supernatural that i gave, it is not part of the existing universe and therefore is non-existent.

I didn't say a soul isn't supernaturla. It is, by definition.

"A soul would be supernatural by definition, but..."

But me no buts. Since a soul has no space or matter, it is supernatural and my thesis is that it doesn't exist.

That's not what supernatural means. Supernatural = no space or matter. Matter is that which occupies space. A soul would be supernatural by definition, but would still be part of the created existing universe. And I don't see the universe s logically unnecessary, since then it would be brute fact.
