First we need to know we are all madly in love with the same God.

After this, people use their free will to profit more than the other people, regardless, religion or ideology.

Any discussion about "freedom" in a Catholic context should not fail to mention the amount of freedom enjoyed by the Cathars.

What a fool! How can we know or study anything then? If what he said were true, everything would just be brute fact!

>I agree that you did not say "no slavery" and I apologize. However, you are painfully naive that slavery is not still quite widespread. Google "human trafficking".

I accept your apology but note the phrase "not still quite widespread" is quite ambiguous. Thus it doesn't give a precise number. It only contrasts it with the slave trade of past centuries that was legal in western nations.
Human Trafficking is an underground and illegal activity thus by definition cannot be as numerous as the slave trade of old proper. When I get into google I note 12 million slaves had been brought to America while human trafficking can attract 300000 children under the age of 18 and 4.5 million adults.

They are not comparable in that the slave trade was legal and this is illegal. Also no modern person argues nor any modern movement of significance argues the buying and selling of human beings should be legal.
A person who is a victim of trafficking can run to the police. A slave had to cross several states to flee to Canada. Today courts wouldn't return a Chinese sex slave to her pimp if she runs away. A Northern Court can & have returned runaway slaves.

As I recall my remarks where a response to "Christians owning slaves" which today clearly isn't really a thing wide spread. At best in Africa or the Middle East a hand full of Christians might own somebody today. I am not naive that crime goes on. Rather I am informed on proper distinctions. You painfully are lacking in that department. Fallacies of equivocation don't suit you my friend.

Peace.
