You cannot claim that someone existed without having a written record made by someone withing living memory of his life. None of that exists for Jesus. If anything, to insist that Jesus existed in spite of that minimal required historic evidence is nothing more than special pleading. Denying that Jesus existed might seem a bit harsh, but the onus to show the facticity of his existence rests with those who make such claims and no obligation exists for anyone else to accept it as true.
