"Scholars"? The only "scholars" in any relevant field you cite above are Bob Price and Robert Eisenman - both fringe figures who border on the crackpot themselves. The other people you cite are amateurs, nobodies or people from unrelated fields. But good to see the "hive mind" of "Achyara" drones is still buzzing around the internet defending her silly ideas.

This is not an counter argument to anything that O'Neil has written here?(BTW you do know his is an Atheist right?). This is just quoting people. Any Theist can give you a list of bible verses to "prove" God or Jesus or Athena exists.

Lame! Jesus Mythers are the Young Earth Creationists of non-belief.

"I find it undeniable that many of the epic heroes and ancient patriarchs and matriarchs of the Old Testament were personified stars, planets, and constellations." "I find myself in full agreement with Acharya S/D.M. Murdock"
- Dr. Robert Price, Biblical Scholar with two Ph.D's

Earl Doherty defers to Acharya for the subject of astrotheology:

"A heavenly location for the actions of the savior gods, including the death of Christ, would also have been influenced by most religions' ultimate derivation from astrotheology, as in the worship of the sun and moon. For this dimension of more remote Christian roots, see the books of Acharya S"
- Earl Doherty, Jesus: Neither God Nor Man, (2009) page 153

"Your scholarship is relentless! ...the research conducted by D.M. Murdock concerning the myth of Jesus Christ is certainly both valuable and worthy of consideration."
- Dr. Ken Feder, Professor of Archaeology

"...In recent months or over the last year or so I have interviewed Frank Zindler and Richard Carrier and David Fitzgerald and Robert Price all on the issue of mythicism ... when I spoke to these people I asked for their expertise collectively and what I got, especially from Fitzgerald and Robert Price, was that we should be speaking to tonights guest D.M. Murdock, author of 'Did Moses Exist? The Myth of the Israelite Lawgiver'."
- Aron Ra, The Ra Men podcast EP10 - Did Moses Exist? with D.M. Murdock

"I've known people with triple Ph.D's who haven't come close to the scholarship in Who Was Jesus?"
- Pastor David Bruce, M.Div

"...I have found her scholarship, research, knowledge of the original languages, and creative linkages to be breathtaking and highly stimulating."
- Rev. Dr. Jon Burnham, Pastor

"I can recommend your work whole-heartedly!"
- Dr. Robert Eisenman

Susan asked me to respond as she, along with other atheists, were banned from this site. The comment you are responding to is five years old.

You can find her by searching Disqus and respond to her in another forum if you’d like to have her input.

I think science is as irrelevant to "the supernatural" as "the supernatural" is to science. I believe you're asking the wrong question. For instant, if science can explain a supernatural phenomenon, it would cease being supernatural, by definition. And if a supernatural explanation could be succesfully attributed to a scientific theory, it would not be science at all, now would it? If, one day, science accepts what we consider supernatural today, as a fact, it still wouldn't consolidate the 2... So, as right as you are, in your opening, your follow-up question can only be rhetoric, both ways

Do you understand the counter-arguments to what you said?

Yes. Like the overwhelming majority of scholars and experts, I also understand why they don't work.

Your arguments in this article are fallacious, wrong and inaccurate.

Your use of three words that all mean much the same thing is redundant, superfluous and unneeded.

Carrier responded to some of your stuff already

Yes, mainly by hysterically screaming that I am a "liar" and "insane". The first one I dismantled here. He was strangely silent about that response for two whole years - a uncharacteristic silence, given his usual hair-triggered responses to criticism. But his fanboys kept asking him why he hadn't replied and so we got that second ... rather unhinged contribution. And then we saw why he had been so silent - his attempted refutation of my arguments failed totally. He knew he couldn't actually counter what I said, but when forced to do so all we get is straw-manning, side-stepping and increasing levels of hysteria. Your little hero appears to be coming apart at the seams. Poverty and unemployment will do that to most people and lack of attention and increasing marginalisation will do that to narcissists like Carrier.

I'll be ripping his response to pieces in my next blog article, so stay tuned.

There’s more coming in the CHRESTUS app

The silly little Myther app that tries to tackle complex historical arguments in Tweet-sized blurts? Gosh. *Chuckle*

That might not ahve been the original link, since it's quota instead of disks, but the idea is apparently the same.
