But, as Thomas Jefferson himself argued with the Muslims in the Treaty of Tripoli, America is NOT a Christian nation. In fact, I'd say that the Constitution is specifically anti-Christian, and that the real American religion is the worship of Individual Profit at the expense of the Common Good.

Countries with the least amount of religious people such as Norway, Sweden etc. are doing a lot better with low crime rates etc.

I repeat. Which specific Catholics have argued that the stolen property of North America should be returned to those we stole it from? You aren't answering that because you know you can't, and aren't honest enough to admit it.

BTW, I'm not an atheist. And I'm glad you're done with this conversation, that's a good plan that I endorse.

Phil, come back when you know who Archbishop Blanchet and St. Katherine Drexel were. You are arguing with such a lack of information about the relationship between tribal peoples and the Catholic Church WORLDWIDE that you are looking like an idiot.

Add to that you are a genocidal maniac on the subjects of abortion and euthanasia yourself, and I'm done with this conversation. You have utterly failed to prove atheists can be good without God, because you yourself are nothing more than a hateful bigot who wants to eliminate the next generation.

Which Catholics are arguing North America should be returned to native peoples please? Not "improve the reservations". Return the stolen property. Which Catholics? Names please.

As to "off topic" you are the one that raised the subject of genocide.

And no, I do not accept lectures from Catholics on the subject of abortion as it's clear to me that Catholics are, generally speaking, not interested in the unborn other than to use them as a platform for the projection of fantasy moral superiority.

If Catholic culture did care about children who are unwanted, it would use it's vast resources to provide homes to those children, it would work constructively with Planned Parenthood instead of demonizing them.

The Church's abortion stance is a classic "fire up the base" tactic used by politicians worldwide. The real purpose of the campaign is to create an enemy so that folks such as yourself can feel like heros, which binds you to the Church, and keeps the donations rolling in.

All of this was illustrated in horrific detail in the child rape scandal. What the clergy cares about is clerical power, not children.

I can see now you're just a flag waving ideologist, so feel free to ignore me from here out, as you'll be happy you did.

Given that they give their lives over to the state and disregard their own children and accept 90% taxes, yeah, they're idiots.

"During the 19th century the majority of the American population was Christian"

That is far more of an assumption, especially for the early part of the 19th century, than fact; but it is also completely OFF TOPIC.

"Pretty much none of today's Christians are arguing any of the stolen property should be returned."

Bullshit. Plenty of Catholics are. Especially those who followed in the example of St.Katherine Drexel to improve the very reservations that were left.

But that was a slaughter in the past. What do atheists say about the 60 million Americans killed for the crime of being conceived without permission since 1973? That is *currently going on* and something YOU CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT.

You mean at the hands of capitalists.

I mean what I said. During the 19th century the majority of the American population was Christian, and on average more religious than now. And the vast majority of them agreed with the theft of Indian land, and the extermination of Indians to the degree needed to complete the theft. And....

Pretty much none of today's Christians are arguing any of the stolen property should be returned.

Atheists agreed and agree today with all of this so I'm not saying Christianity was solely to blame, only that Christian culture in general posed no serious complaint about the slaughter.

Yes, so what? The supernatural is just the superset of the natural. Human beings, by having a soul, are supernatural.
