Thank you for your many kind words about my writings. If you are not already aware of it, you might like my book, Rational Responses to Skepticism (2022). It is a collection of some 41 of my online essays published over the last decade or so. About 35 of them appeared on the Strange Notions website. I pray this volume will do some good in this age of massive intellectual confusion. It is heavy reading, literally: over two pounds and 570 pages! :) But, since each article is complete in itself, one need only read them one at a time -- not so daunting a task.

I have a paycheck coming and an ich to spend.

For those of you who may think I intended to write this book, the truth is that it, literally, happened by accident. You folks know I have been putting articles on SN for years now -- and what gave them a somewhat common theme was the theme of this website.

By pure luck, I wrote Dr. Sebatian Mahfood on another matter and mentioned that I had some 25 essays on SN. He wrote back, informing me that he was a publisher of En Route Books and that, in fact, I had not put 25 pieces on SN, but 34! He then suggested that they be published as a collection. I found seven more essays -- three on the Homiletic & Pastoral Review and four on The Postil. Thus, the total of 41. I know I have others "out there," but most escape my fading memory.

Since it was a print-on-demand book and Dr. Mahfood had all the software (since he has published some 305 other books!), it was virtually no work on my part to let him put it all together -- and so we have the finished product.

Incidentally, the bright red tree on the cover image was inspired by, but not identical to, a tree in my own backyard that happened to turn flaming red during the several days we were discussing a cover. The leaves all fell off my tree immediately thereafter. Of course, I hope the book does not meet quite the same fate!

I should put that on my list. Sound good boss.
